Northern California Coast Trip - Day 4 (Santa Cruz)

Today we started the day in Santa Cruz at the Beach Boardwalk.  My uncle used to own a condo overlooking the beach here.  Our family loved taking trips here and hanging out at the beach, playing on the boardwalk with all the games and rides, and watching the pretty magnificent surfing over near the lighthouse.

Bryan and Colton took on Morgan and Kyle in a game of Airhockey...

We took a Frisbee with us wherever we went on this trip!

The view when we walked out on the boardwalk...

At the end of the boardwalk there were tons of sea lions sunning themselves everywhere - in the water, and up under the boardwalk itself.  You could hear them barking pretty loudly...

After the boardwalk we walked the mile or so along scenic West Cliff Drive to get to the Santa Cruz Lighthouse.  This spot is notorious for its killer waves and is known as one of the top surfing spots in the world!  We had fun watching all the surfing.

Then it was back to the beach to play in the sun, waves, and sand.  I had brought some kites, and we had balls, and frisbees, so we hung out and enjoyed our time together!

Flying a kite and playing soccer at the same time - fancy Bryan!
