FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS...soccer style

Now that Bryan's older, his soccer games are in the evenings.  I like that a whole lot better than the blistering Phoenix heat midday (when my younger kids play).  We love going Friday nights to his games.  We get to watch him flirt with the girls on his team...
He's become a pretty amazing soccer player.  Soccer is his favorite sport.  This year he got to play for a coach he also played with last year.  He's a great coach, and Bryan has learned so much playing for him.  The kids he played with were also great.  My parents also attended almost every game.  Bryan is a lot of fun to watch!
The beginnings of the games gave us this view of the sun setting over the mountains...it was beautiful...every single game.
Bryan is a great example to his younger sister and brothers.  He is a responsible, fun, strong, amazing kid that I feel lucky to have as my oldest.
I absolutely love the midnight blue color of the sky when the sunlight is almost completely gone.  It's the most deep, beautiful blue color.

Bryan has some pretty amazing speed.  He can catch up to pretty much anyone.  He comes out of nowhere and gets to that ball.  He is so fast!
Can't wait to watch you play soccer again, Bryan!

BASKETBALL AnTiCs

I am not big on watching sports...unless I know the players personally.  The players I obviously know the best are my children.

And I LOVE watching them play ball!

I love seeing them get better and better.  I love watching their excitement when they try so hard to make a basket...and then finally do.  I love watching them learn to pass the ball - giving others the chance to take the shot.  There's a maturity there that is fun to see them gain.

Kyle sticks out his tongue when he's concentrating.  I think it's so cute.

Bryan played with a really great group of boys this year.  Not only were they great players, but they were also really great friends.  Bryan really enjoyed them a lot!

I have watched Morgan morph into this really competitive basketball player.  She's really good!  Heaven help the girl who tries to steal the ball from her.  She doesn't let go of that ball for anything.

She actually made the shot in this picture below!
Another one of Bryan's games...

Colton is also a competitive little player!

They all had a really great season and had some fabulous coaches.  I look forward to the next season!

SUMMERTIME TENNIS

Playing tennis in the summer is something you have to get up early here to do.  Colton wanted to sign up for tennis classes this summer.  They wanted us at the court by 7am.  This is so you don't roast in the 100+ degree afternoon once the sun comes up.

Colton absolutely loved playing - all my kids do (Bryan and Morgan didn't want to get up early on their precious summer days off school, & Kyle wasn't old enough for the class).  Colton loved every morning that he got to go to tennis.  He never complained once.  Here are some shots I got of him during his classes...
