For our reunion for my side of the family this summer we met up at Disneyland! One of my favorite places in the world!!  Although not everyone was able to make it (including my husband, who we missed dearly!), we had a pretty good showing.  It was SO FUN to meet up with my brother and his family who we hadn't seen a couple of years.  Their newest little girl was a year old and we hadn't met her yet!  Colton and Kyle LOVED hang in' out with their two oldest boy, McKay and Logan...

Bryan absolutely HATES rollercoasters, so he did not join us on my favorite - the Tower of Terror!

This was our family's first time on the Radiator Springs Racers ride, and it is a standout new favorite!

I love how different and funny each of our faces are in this picture.  Bryan (in the back) cracks me up the most.  He's just trying to hold it together!  For a kids who isn't afraid of much, he REALLY hates drops like this!

Autopia is one of Kyle's favorite rides.  What kids doesn't like driving his own car!  I rode with him since he couldn't reach the pedals...

Thank goodness by brother-in-law, Matt, is such a good sport. I HATE the teacups.  They've always made me so sick.  But Matt just jumped right in and volunteered to take Kyle.  They sure love their Uncle Matt.  He is SO MUCH FUN!

June happenings

We started the summer out with Kyle going to Cub Scout Day Camp.  The boys always LOVE this.  The heat is INTENSE here in Phoenix, but each station you stop at, they literally SOAK you.  They keep you wet all day so you won't get hot.  The favorite part of day camp is always the BB Guns and Archery.  They also have a pool there, so the swimming is a blast too.  There are lots of games, and they boys pass off a TON of stuff.

I got this shot of Kyle tying his tie as we were walking into Church one Sunday...made me chuckle it was so cute.  He's getting so grown up!

I found this note Kyle had written to himself.  Mark was teaching him how to tie his own tie, and he took notes because he wanted to be able to remember.  I thought that was SO CUTE!

Our house is Grand Central Station for our kid's friends.  They love hanging out in the pool, and we love having them!

LOVE this shot!  I snuck it from inside the house when I saw Bryan and Kyle taking a breather from yard work together.  Kyle totally looks up to his big brother, and Bryan is such a great example to him!

We had fun making stuff for Mark for Father's Day!  We gave him a hammock...

but his favorite part is always all the homemade stuff...

Fun stuff in May

This month I got to chaperone Kyle's class on their field trim to the Musical Instrument Museum.  This place was HUGE and had every instrument from all over the world - thousands of instruments.  Really neat!   

 Before the Phoenix summer set in full bore, we decided to hit the zoo, just me, Colton, and Kyle (Morgan and Bryan are not as into the zoo anymore as they used to be when they were younger - which is fine because it gave me more individual time with these two!).  I love that my kids still like to pose for pictures - they actually ask me to take them.  Makes it easy to document our family!

Colton is working so hard in Boy Scouts.  As an 11-year-old Scout, he is well on his way to earning his Eagle.  His goal is to get it before he's 14, and I'm pretty sure he'll do it!

I always love watching my kids in their school musical programs each year.  They're just so darn cute, and they practice so hard to show off for their parents!  My cutie Kyle is on the top row, 4th from the left...

For Mother's Day, Kyle surprised me by pulling me out to the backyard where he had created a little sign out of blue painters tape, and he sang and played an original song for me he had composed...love him!  He also gave me the CUTEST homemade card!

I was the photographer for Colton's football team.  This was a great team, full of Colton's best friends from our ward, and coached by our Stake President and Scoutmaster!  How perfect is that!  They all had such a blast together!

One of the things I love about Kyle is he is extremely creative.  On this weekend, he grabbed a cardboard box and started cutting out pieces and putting them together to create a table.  He spent HOURS, nonstop, working on it.  He was so focused and it was so fun to see him measuring and reinforcing his table to make sure it would stay standing, even with weight on it.  

A table so good that he could actually eat a bowl of cereal at it, with a gallon of milk and the cereal box sitting on it too!  Can you tell how proud he is?  Almost as proud as his mom...almost.

I happened to look out my office window one day and saw Morgan like this...still fully clothed, sucking on her Circle K drink, staying cool.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!  WOO HOO!  This was a day full of games and treats.  Kyle had the most magnificent teacher this year.  She was so fun!  We love, love, love Ms. Richie!!!
